Location: 1528 S El Camino Real, San Mateo, CA 94402
Description: This was a pioneering project in the City of San Mateo.The existing site on El Camino just north of Highway 92 was a restaurant site. The project created a “new” use in the form of offices associated with “Live/Work” units. The physical project was a mix of surface and underground parking with 4 floors of Office (60,000 SF) with 10 “live/work” units. The project boundaries were adjacent to different zoning districts and the Developer worked closely with the community, the neighbors and the City to develop a distinctive project accommodating many uses such as “core Commercial” on the street frontage and Class “A” office space above. The project also preserves the boundary with the adjoining multi-family residential with landscaping and limited access.
